Raba to supply seat components for new Suzuki production line
Raba's component manufacturing unit will supply seat components for the new Suzuki Vitara under a contract valued at HUF 2 bln per year, Raba said yesterday, according to news agency MTI.
Raba, a partly state-owned vehicle parts manufacturer, was awarded a six-year contract beginning this March to sew the Suzuki Vitara seat covers and headrests, press seat pans, weld seat frames and manufacture hinges and seat wire frames.
The supplier agreement secures the manufacturing rights of Raba’s manufacturing unit for the entire lifecycle of the new Vitara. Japanese carmaker Suzuki launched production of its new Vitara model in Esztergom in northern Hungary on March 5.
Raba’s business unit in Mór, central Hungary, has been supplying components to Suzuki for years, and the current order is the third Suzuki model to be fitted with Raba’s components.
