Hungarian paint company Poli-Farbeʼs turnover climbed by 15% to HUF 9.2 bln last year, with after-tax profit rising by 59% to HUF 874 mln and production volume increasing by 8% to 40,700 tons, managing director Antal Szabó said at a press conference in Budapest today.

The managing director said that the firm targets a turnover increase of about 4%, without any rise in prices. He noted that exports to Romania and Slovakia account for about 7% of turnover.

This year, Poli-Farbe is planning to launch a vocational training program for 15-20 local students at its plant in Bócsa, southern Hungary. Hungarian news agency MTI said that last year the company invested HUF 200 mln on a 2,200 sqm production hall, a quality control lab and an office expansion.

Poli-Farbe, which is the only Hungarian-owned business among the three largest companies that control the domestic paint market, is estimated to be worth an annual HUF 24-27 bln and employs a staff of 226.
