New air route from Budapest to Kazakhstan
Direct flights between Hungary and Kazakhstan could start soon. An air service licence was submitted to the Hungarian authority and the deadline for submitting route bids will expire on August 9, Hungarian business daily Világgazdaság reported today.
Another 29 air service licences are available for flights between Budapest and other countries but no company has applied for them, the National Transport authority says. The majority of those licences, which are based on bilateral agreements, were issued after the grounding of Malév Hungarian Airlines early 2012.
