Musashi Hungary expands product range
Musashi Hungary, the Hungarian unit of Japanese vehicle parts manufacturer Musashi, signed a new supplier contract and is scheduled to produce differentials from 2017 through a €4 mln investment in its factory in Ercsi (central Hungary), Hungarian unit managing director András Nagy told Hungarian news agency MTI.
Due to the current expansion, the manufacturer expects to raise the capacity of the unit to producing an annual 1 million differentials by the end of the decade. In line with the current plans, the differentials would chiefly be sold to carmaker BMW.
Currently the Ercsi factory employs 180 workers, while 95% of its production is exported abroad, mainly to Germany and the United Kingdom. The company saw a revenue of €40.5 mln in 2013 and expects its revenue to grow to €42.5 mln this year.
Earlier this year, Musashi Hungary signed supply contracts worth around €110 mln with Audi, Jaguar and Honda.
