Media authority agrees with cable TV providers to inform public on digital switchover

The National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Hungarian Cable Television and Communications Association and the Hungarian Cable Communications Association on informing consumers about the switchover to digital TV, the NMHH told MTI on Thursday. Members of the Hungarian Cable Television and Communications Association can reach about 500,000 consumers. Members of the Hungarian Cable Communications Association can provide information to about 6 million viewers. The switchover to digital broadcasting is scheduled to be implemented in Hungary in two phases, on July 31 and October 31 of this year.
