MÁV to continue installing cameras at railroad crossings
State railroad company MÁV Zrt is spending approximately HUF 200 million on the installation of a camera observation system at some 100 railroad crossings, daily Népszabadság reported. The cameras are hoped to be a deterrent against vandalizing the barriers which has become a common phenomenon. MÁV’s president-CEO Ilona Dávid said that not only do the instances of vandalism sometimes cause millions in damages, they also present a safety risk.
