Jobs becoming extinct due to technology
The advent of ever developing technology is forcing more and more jobs to become extinct. As automation has risen, several jobs, previously done by humans, have become cheaper and faster with the application of machines, reported by HR service provider CIPHR.
Researchers at Oxford suggest that 45% of America’s jobs will become obsolete due to automation in the following two decades and the rest of the world is expected to consort the trend. According to MIT Technology Review the takeover will happen in two stages. At first exclusively liable fields will be reached like transportation/logistics, production labor, and administrative support. The following second wave of computerization will threaten areas dependent on the development of artificial intelligence.
Jobs like video rental clerk, assembly-line worker, travel agent, supermarket cashier, photographic processor are especially endangered, almost extinct, species of professions on the labor market. Postal workers, call center operatives, taxi drivers, office clerks and social media managers have to be afraid being the next plethora of works in immense danger.
The above mentioned process would not be a surprise as, by the cause advancing technology, telephone operators and word processors ceased to exist in the 1990s. Though technology has also created jobs, according to researchers by 2020, more than 75% of the them will be running with the help of technology, as reported by Philly.com, thus complete ignorance towards technological gadgets is not paying its way regarding our future.
