The producer prices in Romania dropped 2.22% year-on-year in October, following a marginally revised 0.42% decline in the prior month, figures from the Bucharest-based National Institute of Statistics (INS) showed on Tuesday.

It was the fourth consecutive month of decrease in producer prices due to faster drops in prices of electricity, gas, steam, & air-conditioning supply (-3.40% vs -0.86% in September), amid continued decline in mining & quarrying (-17.66% vs -23.13%).

By contrast, prices increased further for water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation (18.94% vs 18.67%), and manufacturing (0.98% vs 0.99%).

Monthly, producer prices climbed by 0.37% after a 2.02% growth in September.
