Poland Industrial Output Growth at 15-month High

Poland's industrial production rose 3.3% year-on-year in February, picking up from an upwardly revised 2.9% gain in the previous month, the country's Statistics Office (GUS) said on Wednesday.

It was the highest reading since November 2022. Output for manufacturing increased 3.8% and production of water supply & sewerage waste management rose by 10.3%.

On the other hand, production fell for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning by 4.3%, while output for mining & quarrying went down by 2%.

On a monthly basis, industrial output gained 0.7% in February, easing from 3.6% increase in January. Separate data showed that producer prices in Poland dropped 10.1% year-on-year in February, slightly easing from an upwardly revised 10.6% fall in January.

On month, the producer price index (PPI) rose 0.1% in February, recovering from an upwardly revised 1.9% fall in the previous month.
