Passenger Cars per 1,000 People at 424 in Hungary

There were 424 passenger cars per 1,000 inhabitants in Hungary in 2022, well under the 560 average for the European Union as a whole, data compiled by Eurostat show.

The passenger car rate in Hungary was the third-lowest in the EU, after Latvia (414) and Romania (417).

The rate stood at 598 in the Czech Republic, 572 in Poland, and 472 in Slovakia.

The passenger car rate in Hungary climbed from 301 in 2012, a 41% increase, the data show.
