80,000-plus Vehicles With Green License Plates

Automotive

According to the January 2024 data series, more than 88,000 EVs and hybrids are driving in Hungary with light green license plates, which grant them special privileges, such as free parking and the use of bus lanes, the Ministry of Energy Affairs announced on its Facebook page.

Four years ago, there were only 17,000 of them, so their number has increased fivefold since the beginning of the decade.

It added that, in the case of purely electric cars, the expansion is six and a half times faster in the same period.

This February, their number will exceed 50,000.
