Hungary shortlisted for Jaguar Land Rover plant
U.K.-based carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is finalizing plans for its new Eastern European plant and has drawn up a shortlist of four host countries: Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary, the Financial Times reported on Saturday.
JRL bosses have already named two specific areas in these four countries: one near Győr, northwestern Hungary, which would allow the company to take advantage of the supplier base built up by Audi around its engine and car plant in the city. Another specific location is being considered in Poland, but apparently no specific towns have been named in the other countries, according to online portal autocar.co.uk.
According to the U.K. portal, the plant would build models based on the companyʼs new aluminum architecture.
