Hungary 54th in the World Bank's Doing Business survey
Hungary kept its ranking as 54th in a comparison of how easy it is for domestic firms to do business in 189 economies, according to the latest "Doing Business" survey of the World Bank, published yesterday.
Elsewhere in the region, most countries improved: Czech Republic moved to the 44th place from the 75th in last year's survey, Slovakia is up to 37th from 49th, Poland improved from 32nd from 45th and Romania to 48th from 73th.
The survey investigates how the regulatory environment makes the life of businesses easier or more difficult in terms of starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting credit, getting electricity, registering property, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency. It also analyses labour market regulation.
