Árpád Habony and Tibor Győri registered Modern Media Group Befektetési és Vagyonkezelő Zrt. (MMG), data published in official company registry Cégközlöny reveals, news portal napi.hu reported on Friday. Based on unnamed sources, online news portal valasz.hu reported earlier last week that Habony had registered a company with the same name.

Habony, best known as Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s advisor and for physically abusing a couple in a road rage incident in 2006, is also the proprietor of Színes Tinták Bt., which has not had any reported revenue for several years, according to public records. Győri was the former head of legal affairs for the Prime Minister’s Office during the previous term.

According to reports, Modern Media Group is set to become the central body responsible for the emerging new Fidesz-friendly media empire and will replace the role once held by media mogul Lajos Simicska, who recently had a public falling out with his long-time friend, Prime Minister Orbán.

The headquarters of the new company are located at the same address as Századvég, the government-friendly research firm. The chief executive of the company is Péter Keresztesi, the current CEO of Napi Gazdaság Kiadó and Marketing, PR and Communications Director of Századvég group, according to napi.hu.
