Bombardier MÁV wins HUF 1.7 billion order from Hungarian state railways

Bombardier MÁV has won a HUF 1.7 bilion order to test and certify 157 carriages of state-owned railway company MÁV, Bombardier MÁV managing director Péter Orbán said.

Bombardier MÁV, a joint venture of MÁV and Canada's Bombardier, will fill the order for MÁV's maintenance unit between July 1 and the end of March, next year, Orbán said. Bombardier MÁV has also tested and certified Italian carriages, and it has revamped carriages for railway companies in Switzerland, Norway and the Czech Republic, he said.

Bombardier MÁV had revenue of HUF 8.7 bilion in 2011. Bombardier holds 65% of the JV, MÁV owns 25% and 10% of shares are in the hands of employees.
