Hungary’s market leading carsharing company Avalon is opening four new carsharing points in the country’s capital, the company announced today. Avalon is now operating five sharing points.

Avalon’s carsharing, entitled CareSharing, provides an innovative solution for the environmental and traffic issues encountered in large European cities. Clients can pick up a car from any of the five sharing points and return the car, when they do not need it anymore. The service has daily, monthly and also annually fee options for both private (Avalon Publicare) and corporate (CarSharing) customers.

Typical fees can work out cheaper than a rental. For example, according to their website, once you pay a HUF 10,000 registration fee and a monthly fee of HUF 1,300, using a car costs HUF 170 for an hour.

In the long run, Avalon is planning to enter the bourse of Budapest Stock Exchange in 2018. The car sharing service based in the concept of hiring cars was launched in 1999 by two friends. Today, the service coordinates more than a hundred car hires a month.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
