Aquaprofit signs cooperation agreement with Chinese partners
Hungarian water industry company Aquaprofit and the University of Debrecen, eastern Hungary, signed a cooperation agreement today with Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou and a Chinese company in Shenzhen, under which the parties will map out, explore, and preserve underground water sources in South China together based on the five-year agreement signed in April, it was announced at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences today.
Aquaprofit CEO Tamás Nádasi said at the event that the fast pace of Chinaʼs economic development has led to severe water shortages, with some big cities pumping in drinking water from distances of 300-400 km. According to the CEO, China is currently seeking underground water and wants to acquire the necessary technology and know-how.
