Pactera, China-based IT consulting company, is planning to open an €11 mln development center in Hungary, as a first step in long-term plans for operations in the country, the company’s vice president, Antonion Monodmolil, announced today.

The center would host the company's software-development, business-intelligence and data-analysis activities– and would create 230 new jobs in the first phase of the investment.

Péter Szijjártó, the state secretary for the Ministry of External Economy and Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the country has long-term plans for cooperation with Pactera, saying that the government would support the Chinese company in raising the number of employees to the 800 and 1,000 range by the second and third phases respectively.

Szijjártó added that 80 service and development centers are currently in operation around Hungary employing 30,000 people. Montomoli said that The Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA) and the government of Hungary had provided Pactera with a significant amount of assistance with regard to planning for the new development center.
