Revenue from BP transport fares reaches HUF 60 bln in 2014
Sales of tickets and passes for Budapest’s public transport generated an estimated net revenue of HUF 60 bln for the Budapest Public Transport Centre (BKK) last year, up from HUF 57 bln in 2013, Hungarian economic daily Napi Gazdaság reported today.
BKK told the paper that revenue was up from approximately HUF 50 bln in 2010 as unit sales rose for all tickets and passes with the exception of pensioners’ passes. Revenue from fines for fare evaders exceeded HUF 1 bln last year, as compared to the previous year’s 660 mln.
