Sales of the Hungarian subsidiary of Italian building materials maker Mapei saw a year-on-year rise of 16.7% in the first quarter of 2015 following an expansion in the domestic construction sector as well as increased marketing activities, managing director Béla Markovich said today.

Mapei foresees further modest growth for this year in the construction industry with the increase of private investments, energy-efficiency investments and an expansion in the market for home renovations. The Hungarian unit of Mapei has a headcount of 148 and reported revenue of HUF 8.3 bln in 2014.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
