Mulled Version of Belle-Vue Kriek Makes Debut at Advent Fair

Drinks

Borsodi Brewery has come up with a special drink for Advent this year. At the Advent Basilica Christmas Fair, visitors can try the mulled version of Belle-Vue Kriek, available in classic and chili-dark chocolate flavors.

"Although not many people are familiar with the genre in this country, you can actually make mulled beer from any kind of beer. However, it is the fruity beers that are best suited to the flavors of the spiced, mulled beers. That's why we chose a member of our Belgian portfolio, as Belle-Vue Kriek is a lambic beer specialty brewed in Brussels at the Belle-Vue brewery using the traditional method and adding fresh sour cherries," says Balázs Rotter, head brewer at Borsodi Brewery.

He added about the brewing method, "The basis of this specialty drink is the fruity Belle-Vue Kriek beer, matured in oak barrels for three years, combined with the characteristics of winter drinks. During the boiling process, the classic version is spiced with cinnamon, orange, and cloves, while the chili and chocolate-flavored version is spiced with rosemary in addition to the ingredients in its name, so its characterful flavors are guaranteed to add to the Christmas spirit and festive experience."

For the time being, the Belle-Vue Kriek mulled beer is only available during the Advent season and exclusively at the Borsodi Brewery pavilion at the Advent Basilica Fair.
