Controversial congestion levy expected in 2016

Tourism

The long anticipated Budapest congestion levy may finally be introduced in 2016, according to a report by figyelő.hu.

Widely considered an unpopular measure, the bill that would limit traffic within the Buda and Hungária ring roads has not yet been proposed by the Budapest General Assembly but the timing now seems ideal as no elections will be held anytime soon. Figyelő expects the Parliament to discuss the proposal in spring 2015.
