Budapest to welcome Leaders in Hospitality CEE & CIS Summit
The two-day long Leaders in Hospitality CEE & CIS Summit is expected to bring together over 200 hoteliers and hotel chains in Budapest, Hungary at the Danubius Hotel Flamenco on May 28th and 29th, the International Business Council said in a press release.
With technology and innovation advancing the standards of sustainability, it is now easier than ever to make those small changes to become a greener and more eco-friendly hotel, the International Business Council said in a press release. Creating a sustainable environment, location and building is a challenge many hoteliers are not willing to undertake but it is an important part of maintaining a successful business plan, according to the press release. These challenges can seem impossible to overcome but building a strategy to create this sustainable environment reduces costs and generates business opportunities, the press release added.
“A hotel can definitely be more sustainable. This means that sustainability will be incorporated in the business strategy and throughout all of the business processes. Any hotel can strive to develop a green building and be certified under LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) or BREEAM. It can also improve its operations and train its staff. Innovation, creativity and collaboration with suppliers are key aspects as well improving social actions and reducing environmental impact. In this way, working towards sustainability can be seen as a new dimension of quality management and as a new philosophy of doing business,” Arturo Cuenllas, the author of many case studies and publications about management and sustainability in hospitality and the Founder of Conscious Hospitality, a Hospitality Educational Consultancy in Management, Leadership and Sustainability, said.
