Budapest Airport hosts cargo conference

City

Approximately 100 cargo industry representatives participated at the conference hosted by Budapest Airport today.

Hungary could become a natural hub for air cargo companies with its developed electronics and pharmaceutical industries, said Budapest Airport property director Rene Droese.

The 36 cargo companies at Liszt Ferenc International Airport, which is operated by Budapest Airport, carry 92,000 tons of goods a year.

State secretary Lászlo Szabó told the conference participants that the government aims to turn Hungary into the gateway to Europe for Asian goods arriving by rail, water or air.
