Austrian-owned meat processing company Tamási-Hús is expecting to see a year-on-year rise of 28% in its 2014 revenue, to reach HUF 9.88 bln, managing director László Kozma told Hungarian news agency MTI today.

According to the managing director, the growth is driven by the introduction of new products and expansion on various markets, with output rising by 1,000 tons of product to more than 5,500 tons in 2014. Exports account for 64% of revenue, chiefly to countries such as the U.K., Germany and throughout Scandinavia.

Kozma noted that due to the Russian health agency’s embargo on animal, plant, and some European food imports introduced last June, the company lost approximately HUF 500 mln in revenue. The managing director added that he hopes that exports will resume to Russia as of this year, and projects revenue of more than HUF 10 bln in 2015.

The company had a headcount of 251 workers on average in 2014.
