BUX extends gains, rises with peers

The Budapest Stock Exchange's main BUX index rose 0.77% to HUF 22,681.39 on Thursday, advancing along with Western European and CEE share indices.

OTP Bank rose 0.75% to HUF 5,350 on turnover of HUF 6.61 billion, oil and gas company MOL gained 0.88% to HUF 20,175 on turnover of HUF 0.73 billion, drug maker Richter advanced 0.83% to HUF 45,020 on turnover of HUF 0.94 billion and Magyar Telekom closed up 0.59% at HUF 686 on turnover of HUF 0.49 billion.

Share turnover totaled HUF 9.6 billion for the session.

The bourse's mid-cap BUMIX index closed up 0.78% at 2,029.22.

Big European share indices were all up, with London's FTSE gaining 0.48%, Frankfurt's DAX inching up 0.09% and the CAC-40 in Paris rising 0.27%.

Elsewhere in the CEE region, Warsaw's WIG-20 rose 0.53% and Prague's PX-50 was up 0.63%. (MTI-Econews)

Despite portfolio deterioration, K&H Bank profits more than double in H1
