Hungarian farm minister meets with Japanese ambassador
Friday 16:41, July 30th, 2010

Hungarian farm minister Sándor Fazekas met with Japan's ambassador to Hungary Ito Teceu on Friday to discuss agricultural exports.

Japan is a priority target market for exports of Hungarian farm products, especially pork and poultry, Fazekas said. Hungary also exports goose liver, goose down, cheese and wine to the country, he added.

Japan's own farm output is enough to supply just 40pc of the country's demand for food, and Hungary wants to bring more products to this big market, especially ones that are typically Hungarian, he said.

Hungary would welcome the transfer of Japanese environmental protection technology, especially if it supports the creation of jobs, Fazekas said. (MTI-ECONEWS)
