Hungary Joins Poland, Czechia in Slovakian Air Policing

Hungary's Gripen fighter jets will join the fighter aircraft of Czechia and Poland to secure Slovakian airspace while the country replaces its MiG-29 fleet under an agreement signed by Visegrád Group defense ministers in the High Tatra mountains of Slovakia on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Hungary will join the air policing operation until the end of 2024, Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky said in a statement issued by his ministry.
He said the deal was an "outstanding example" of the Visegrád Group assisting each other "in a close alliance".
Consultations at the professional level on strengthening NATO's eastern flank are ongoing among the V4, he added.
