Trade Surplus at EUR 1.58 bln in November

Hungary's trade surplus reached EUR 1.58 billion in November, widening from EUR 1.003 bln in the previous month, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading of data this week.
Exports slipped 3.1% year-on-year to EUR 12.983 bln. Imports dropped 23.2% to EUR 11.404 bln, the steepest decline in more than three years.
Trade with other European Union member states accounted for 77% of Hungary's exports and 75% of its monthly imports. Hungary's terms of trade improved 9.8% during the period as the forint strengthened 6.9% against the euro and 12% to the dollar.
For January-November 2023, Hungary's exports rose 5.6% to EUR 138.619 bln, and imports fell 7.9% to EUR 129.11 bln. The trade surplus reached EUR 9.509 bln.
