Surplus on External Trade in Goods at EUR 899 mln in March

Hungary's surplus on external trade in goods stood at EUR 899 million in March 2023, with the value of exports rising at a brisker pace than that of imports compared to the third month of 2022, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The value of exports amounted to EUR 14.1 billion and that of imports to EUR 13.2 bln.

The value of exports increased by 16% year-on-year and that of imports by 2.1% y.o.y. in EUR terms.

The balance of external trade in goods improved by EUR 1.7 billion compared to March 2022.

The share of EU Member States was 78% in exports and 69% in imports.

Compared to February 2023, the level of goods exports increased by 11% and that of goods imports by 8.5%, KSH notes.
