Hungary C/A Deficit Narrows to EUR 160 mln in February

Hungary had a EUR 160 million current-account deficit in February, data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Friday show, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The gap narrowed from EUR 781 mln in January.

Hungary had a EUR 560 mln trade surplus in February, the balance of a EUR 183 mln deficit in the trade of goods, and a EUR 743 mln surplus in trade of services.

The primary income balance showed a deficit of EUR 509 mln, as investors repatriated EUR 555 mln from direct investments.

Capital transfers from the European Union came to EUR 137 mln for the month.
