Paks power plant block output reduced after malfunction

The Paks nuclear power plant's number four block is operating at 50% capacity after a turbine was shut down on Monday as safety measures kicked in, operator MVM Paksi Atomerőmű said according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The malfunction has no effect on nuclear safety or the environment, the operator said, adding that experts are working to resolve the issue.
