Hungary has created the legal conditions that would make LNG infrastructure investments "theoretically possible", Energy Affairs Minister Csaba Lantos said in an interview with the website Világgazdaság published on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Lantos noted that a regasification facility would soon be built in Bratislava and said LNG delivered by lorry to Hungary could be regasified locally.

"The big question is how much that would cost," he added.

He acknowledged that gas delivered via pipeline would be cheaper, but said there was "no single solution" to ensuring Hungary's energy security. "All options must remain open," he added.
