HungaroMet Wins HUF 10 bln Grant for Weather, Climatology Portal

HungaroMet has announced it won HUF 10 billion in European Union support to develop a meteorological and climatology portal, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The state-owned meteorology company aims to make weather-related data readily available to the general public to help people adapt to the impact of climate change.

HungaroMet will expand and upgrade its network of 150 weather stations while adding close to 1,500 other measurement devices.

The project is set to finish by the end of March 2026.
