Tomato Farmers Expect Good Harvest This Year

Farmers engaged in industrial tomato production expect a good harvest this year, at around 100,000 tonnes of tomatoes, according to the joint forecast of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and the Hungarian Vegetable-Fruit Trade Organization and Product Council (FruitveB), writes profitline.hu.

Tomato products produced and processed in Hungary are found in many European countries.

According to area-based subsidies, industrial tomato cultivation occurred on 1,417 hectares last year and 1,465 hectares this year.
