Hungary 2nd Largest Cherry Producer in EU

The quality of domestic cherries is outstanding, and Hungary is still one of the most prominent actors in the European Union, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said in a video published on his Facebook page.

The minister said that Hungary is a "silver medal" cherry producer in the EU, in second place after Poland.

The quality of Hungarian fruit is not only exceptional but also its taste is unique, he noted.

The color, flavor, berry size, seed-to-flesh ratio and texture of Hungarian varieties are superior to foreign competitors, so they are in demand not only in the processing industry but also in the fresh market, the minister explained..
