Slovak Construction Output Down in April

Construction output in Slovakia shrank 8.3% year-on-year in April, the second month of contraction, although easing from a 10.1% fall in the previous month, figures released by the Bratislava-based Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) showed.

Domestic construction fell less (-9% vs -11.3% in March), as engineering works rebounded (1.5% vs -10.7%).

Meanwhile, construction abroad declined (-2.2% vs 1.3%), data showed.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction activity fell by 10.4%, the same as in the previous month.
