MOL Bubi Bike Share Scheme Set to Double in Size

The fleet of Budapest's MOL Bubi bike-sharing scheme, operated by the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) with the support of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, is set to double in size to 4,500 bikes from January 2026, state news wire MTI reports.
This will include 1,000 e-bikes, Mayor Gergely Karácsony said on Tuesday.
Speaking at the inauguration of another MOL Bubi docking station, the 208th, Karácsony said the MOL Bubi service area would be expanded to transport hubs outside of the capital's outer ring road when Bubi 3.0 launched.
BKK CEO Katalin Walter said the number of MOL Bubi docking stations had increased by around 30% in the past three years.
The bikes have been rented over 8m times since Bubi 2.0 was launched in the spring of 2021, she added.
