Updated COVID Booster Jabs Arrive in Hungary

The first doses of a bivalent vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech that targets both the original COVID-19 strain and the Omicron BA.1 variant arrived in Hungary on Wednesday, the National Public Health Center (NNK) said, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Ágnes Galgóczi, who heads the NNK's epidemiology department, said 109,440 jabs of a total of 9.5 million Hungary is getting in the framework of a European Union order, arrived. The jabs will be available at vaccination centers from the coming week, she added.
The jabs will be available only to people over the age of 12 who have had at least one COVID booster jab.
Another shipment of the bivalent vaccine, containing 106,560 doses, will arrive in the coming week, and 3m doses will be delivered in October and November. Another 6.5 million jabs will arrive next year.
