Slovenia's industrial production rose by 0.4% year-on-year in October, rebounding from a downwardly revised 5.1% drop in the previous month, data from the Ljubljana-based Statistics Bureau of Slovenia (SURS) on Monday show.

This marked the first increase in industrial activity after seven consecutive months of contraction, driven by a sharp rebound in the output for mining & quarrying (17.1% vs -0.6% in September).

At the same time, production decreased less for manufacturing (-0.1% vs -5.2%) and electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-11.5% vs -23%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output was unchanged in October, following an upwardly revised 5.3% gain in September.
