Slovakia Industrial Output Rebounds in August

Industrial production in Slovakia grew 4.6% year-on-year in August, shifting from a 5.3% contraction in the previous month, figures from the Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) showed on Tuesday.
It was also the highest reading since December 2021, supported by a rebound in the key manufacturing sector (4.4% vs -6.2% in July), mining & quarrying sector (2.9% vs -9.7%), and the continued expansion in the energy sector (7.1% vs 3.8%).
The transport equipment manufacture rose by staggering 27% over the year due to fewer holidays in the automotive industry, while manufacture of electrical equipment advanced by 7.6% (vs 6.9%) and that of pharmaceutical products and preparations by 9.8% (vs -7.3%).
Additionally, the output fell less for manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (-9.5% vs -13.3%) and manufacture of rubber and plastic products by (-7.4% vs -12.2%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production expanded 4.5% in August.
