China's Eve Power has started recruiting for a HUF 400 billion battery plant it expects to complete in Debrecen by the end of 2025, the PR company for the project told MTI.

Eve Power has set up recruitment centers in Debrecen and Budapest.

Eve Power earlier signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Debrecen extending to the areas of HR training, a scholarship program, joint research and development and the establishment of a battery research institute.

Eve Power aims to be a "good neighbor" to Debrecen and has decided to sponsor the local football club, DVSC, in the current season.

The company broke ground for the battery plant in Debrecen, its first in Europe, at the end of 2023. The first production line is set to start in 2026, after which time capacity will be ramped up.
