New Hungarian Airbnb hosts earn HUF 200 mln since epidemic

Hungarian hosts who only appeared on Airbnb after the onset of the epidemic have earned more than HUF 200 million in revenue since the onset, according to an announcement from the company, writes business daily Világgazdaság.

Globally, newly joined hosts generated more than USD 1 billion in revenue.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been looking for safe, comfortable accommodation where they could connect with family and friends, while at the same time creating an economic opportunity for others who could earn the extra income they needed by renting out their homes on the Airbnb platform, the article stated.
